This piece of furniture takes inspiration from typography, but does not use ink to communicate it. Instead, it uses the blind embossing technique, which uses relief instead of ink to create a visual effect. The shape of the seat indicates where to sit while representing the typology of the chair. To achieve this, extensive experiments were conducted with different materials to scale the blind embossing technique.
Throughout the day, light and shadow shift in a slow, graceful dance, giving the piece a new face each time. The chair transforms with the light, like a still life coming to life over the course of the day, an ever-changing chiaroscuro in your living room. A subtle yet constant conversation between object and environment.
